Motivating your team can be challenging

Motivating your team can be challenging

Coaching your team made easy

If you are in charge of a sales team or have a group of employees or a network of reps that need to stay motivated to succeed, then you know how challenging that task is. Here are some practical tips you can start using now. They are proven steps, so read on for your benefit and theirs!

Basic TipsThe Basics
If you are the leader of the group or are in charge of their motivation and training, keep the following things in mind:
1) Never ask them to do what you are not prepared to model for them. If you are not capable of showing them that you can do what you ask them to do, they will feel cheated, used and abused.
2) Never ask them to lie for you, for the company or about a product in order to sell it. If you do, you will lose your best people.
3) Meet with them at least once a week to educate, train and motivate them. Have something new to teach them every week to keep them looking forward to the meeting.
4) Be sincere and transparent.

Where to get ideas to motivate your team

Presenting new concepts every week is crucial to keep your team or network motivated. But, where do you get concepts that are worth teaching to your team?
1) Attend motivational seminars from top leaders.
2) Read books about self improvement, sales or success in general.
3) Listen to audio CD’s with information about the topic.
4) Use real life stories about great success for motivation. If they are your stories, even better.
5) USE YOUR PHONE! If you have an iPhone or any Android phone, you can download an application that gives you fresh content every week. You will receive a new high quality video delivered to your phone with information you can use to motivate yourself and motivate your team. You can ask them to install the application as well and learn from the video of the week. Then, the team can meet to discuss the video of the week.

As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. -Max Ehrmann

What is it about bearing grudges that wears one out so much? What is the mystery of the emotional drain that is produced when we find ourselves in conflict with other people?
I will leave that to the medical researchers and scientists. However, it is a fact that the emotional imbalance caused by conflicts in relationships is detrimental to human health.
So, in this rendition I am going to post a question with several logical answers:
-Why do I need to strive to be on good terms with all persons?

  1. Because it will keep me healthier. Lots of health challenges come from the stress caused by arguments, bearing grudges, bitter thoughts, etc. High blood pressure, heart problems, nervous system problems, insomnia, constant fatigue, brain problems and emotional drain problems.
  2. Because when you find yourself in conflict with other people, you are missing on the support they could have otherwise provided you. Remember, “no man is an island”. We need each other, somehow and in some way.
  3. Because when you are in good terms with all persons, you will have more energy to use in your personal endeavors, therefore achieving more overall.
  4. Because when you are bearing grudges with someone you are affecting your relationship with a lot of other people too. Count in the spouse of that person, the children of that person, any good friends of that person, the parents, etc. Why deal with all of that emotional drain when you have the power to turn it around in your favor?  How? I’m glad you asked! By acknowledging their right to have an opinion (yes, even if their opinion is contrary to yours!).
  5. And finally, because  by avoiding conflict with other people you will be more successful (because you will have more people pulling for you, supporting you, following you) because they trust you; and also you will be happier (because you will have more people to celebrate your successes with).

So, from now on, let everyone have their own opinion, avoid conflicts at all cost and be in good terms with all people, because that is one of the keys to your success and a more abundant happiness!!

“Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence” -Max Ehrmann

There are thousands of voices screaming for my attention every second of every day. Tasks, people, TV, family, work, study are some of the things that cry with a loud voice to demand our attention.

How on earth are you supposed to be able to stay focused to grow your business, and to achieve your goals and objectives ?

Here is my simple advise:

  • When the noise of too many voices are demanding your attention, remember to
  1. Start the day with some quiet time with God. It sharpens your mind and broaden your perspectives.
  2. Write down your tasks: the fact that you can see them on paper, takes away a lot of the stress caused by the fear of the possibility of forgetting about an important task.
  3. Prioritize: assign a number to each task in order of importance and relevance. Then, start working them starting with the most important and work your way down the list to finish with the less important one.
  4. If you could not finish all of them, remember that you did finish the most important ones. In doing so, you will be free from the fatigue caused by being constantly worried about things not done.
  5. When feeling overwhelmed by the noise, take some time out. A moment of silence, in a place where you cannot be interrupted, where you can organize your thoughts, will help you stay focused to be able to grow your business  and to achieve your goals and objectives.
  6. When your tasks are constantly more than what you can take care on your own… hire help! That’s a sign of growth.

Now, if you believe this post was helpful to you in order to “stay focused” to be able to “grow your business” and to “achieve your goals” and “objectives”, then, share it, like it or re-post it!

Best of success.

First Things First

Ok, so you want to be your own boss. You want to start your own business (whatever it is) and invest your time, money and effort to grow it with the goal, vision, plan (or whatever you want to call it) to be the fulfillment of your dreams: A business that will provide for you, your family and your employees (or associates) a good (no, a great) source of income, allowing also for you to have enough free time to enjoy it. A business that will be solid, with a good reputation among customers (and among the competition).Ok, Can you do something like that? Yes you can! Believe me, you can. All you need is a market or business model or activity that you enjoy and that will get you excited about doing it as a business.
Let’s say you found that thing that really gets you excited. Here are some basic steps to help your business take off:

  1. Do your homework. Learn all you can about your future business.
  2. Find all the reasons you can to be motivated, enthusiastic, excited about your business. (Believe me, if you are not excited about what you are promoting, there is no way in heaven you can  cause others to be excited about it.)
  3. Do it!  A lot of business plans never make it to be more than that, plans, because they were never tried. Once you know what you are going to do and once you are totally excited about it, you become an unstoppable locomotive.
  4. Develop a positive, happy, never-in-a-bad-temper type of personality, and show it all the time. When you are smiling all the time, you will be an inspiration to others and people will be willing to listen to you. Remember, success comes faster, better, bigger, and tastes better when you have a network of people that are willing to support you and you them.
  5. Provide better than average service for your customers, associates and employees. When you say “How can I help you?” Mean it!

Stay tuned… More to come.
